

About the Team
Johann BENECKE KIESSNER. Born in Guatemala City, Johann is a Business Administration student with a focus on Marketing, currently in his eighth semester. He enjoys solving problems and finding practical ways to improve systems and ideas. Although this is one of his first international opportunities, he has practical experience through internships and university projects. Passionate about strategy and communication, Johann is drawn to solutions that are both effective and meaningful. Outside of academics, he enjoys reading, learning about business and human behavior, and listening to podcasts that challenge his thinking and personal growth.
Melany Iveth CARRANZA SALAZAR. Born and raised in Guatemala, Iveth is an eighth-semester Business Administration student specializing in Marketing and Finance. Through internships at Spectrum and Mostro Agency, she has honed her ability to understand customer needs at a deeper level. Naturally curious and creative, she believes the most effective leadership empowers individuals to strengthen the talent they already possess, a philosophy she hopes to apply in her future career. NIBS is her first international case competition, which she approaches with enthusiasm and a love for the learning process.
Ana Paula VEGA RUIZ. Ana Paula was born and raised in Guatemala and is currently an eighth-semester Business Administration student specializing in Finance and International Business. She is driven by curiosity and a desire to learn from new and challenging experiences. She has professional experience at MBMG and ASLO, where she worked in finance and e-commerce, developing strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Creative by nature and a natural leader, Ana Paula values collaboration and believes that effort and attitude are key drivers of growth. Outside of academics, she enjoys painting, playing basketball, and spending time with her loved ones. NIBS is her first international case competition.
María José MORALES DE LEÓN. María José is from Guatemala City, and is specializing in Finance and Marketing. She gained professional experience through internships at EY and Metroproyectos and participated in a business-focused academic exchange program, which strengthened her global perspective. She is deeply motivated by the strategic use of financial analysis to create sustainable value, foster innovation, and support organizations in achieving both economic and social impact. Known for being creative, efficient, and a positive leader, María José enjoys cooking, exercising, and discovering new places, reflecting her warm and adaptable personality. NIBS is her first international case competition.
- Nancy CHACÓN DE DEL CID (Coach). A native of Guatemala, Nancy is an Industrial Engineer with a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy. She has more than 20 years of experience working as an independent consultant in operations and development of renewable energy projects, electromobility and new business investments. Nancy has been a professor at Universidad del Istmo for the past eight years and currently serves as Vice President of the Electric Mobility Association of Guatemala (AMEGUA).
